Background: The “love feast” of the early church was held with the Lord's supper. (2 Peter 2:13; Jude 12) Believers brought food for sharing, the rich brought much, and the poor brought less. Unfortunately, such a meal became a time to distinguish between the rich and the poor. Paul was deeply troubled and strongly rebuked them. a.
