Pride and Peace 骄傲与和平

On 1 January 2018, the UN Secretary General, Mr António Guterres issued an alert, "a red alert for our world. Conflicts have deepened and new dangers have emerged. Global anxieties about nuclear weapons are the highest since the Cold War. Climate change is moving faster than we are. Inequalities are growing. We see horrific violations of human rights. Nationalism and xenophobia are on the rise." What is the barrier for peace? Verses 9, 12 and 13 point to this one barrier to peace between us and God, and with one another: pride. Can you think of any conflicts in your church or office where stubborn pride prevented a peaceful and cordial resolution? How is God calling you to promote peace?
