Our Lord Jesus Christ has risen! Hallelujah!

From Easter Sunday, we enter into 7 weeks of the Easter season, during which the church continues to preach and emphasise the power and significance of Jesus’s resurrection. June 8th is Pentecost, a reminder to all disciples of Jesus that we need to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to live for Jesus. Jesus’s birth, death, resurrection, ascension, and the presence of the Holy Spirit until His Second Coming … these are not only the cornerstone of our faith, but also a journey of faith for us Christians who follow in the Lord’s footsteps.

Thanks to God’s guidance, YMM’s journey of faith has entered a new era. From April this year, we were finally able to use both halls in A'POSH to have the Chinese and English services concurrently. At last, we have a ‘home’ of our own, and we no longer need to rent a place for worship. God has opened this new way for us! I believe that with this historical turning point, is God’s commission to our Faith Community.

Let’s not lose our agility because of the stability, nor lose our passion for sharing the gospel because of the comfort. Hence, our theme for May and June is “Faith in Action”. Faith is not just a word we say, but it needs to be translated into actions and deeds. Our pulpit series for these two months will draw from the Gospel of Luke and John as we continue to look at how Jesus interpreted and lived out his convictions and missions. With the coming Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, we also encourage everyone to treasure and to protect their family. Let love prevail in our family and in our church, and let it extend to our community.

What good is it, my brothers (and sisters), if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? ... For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.” (James 2:14, 26)

May our risen Lord Jesus help us rely on the Holy Spirit every day to translate our faith into works!
